Class holiday parties are just around the corner. Below are the dates and times for each grade level and some guidelines to remember.
Visiting or Volunteering:
Parents who are coming in early before or staying late after holiday parties for the purpose of setting up, cleaning up, etc. are considered to be performing a volunteer function and must have participated in the volunteer requirements and be on the volunteer calendar. Parents who are simply attending the party are considered to be visiting as would be the case if you were just coming to have lunch with your student, and volunteer training is not required in that case.

Many have asked when the next volunteer training is going to occur, but the biggest issue is that every time that we schedule one it doesn't work with somebody's schedule. Therefore, we are making the volunteer training available to be completed virtually. To do so you must complete the following steps...
1. You must read the Volunteer Handbook (attached below) in its entirety. Once it has been read you should sign the last page acknowledging so.
2. You are required to view the Mandated Reporter Training video at the following link. Once you have viewed the video in its entirety you must sign the Mandated Reporter Training form that is also attached below acknowledging so.
3. You need to go to your local sheriffs department and have a background check completed.
Once all three components are complete, you may either bring the hard copies into the front office or email them to Amy Jones at email@example.com.
Please note...offering volunteer training virtually is not meant to be an easy way around gaining all of the necessary information. When signing that you have completed the requirements of reading the handbook and watching the video, you are indicating that you have done so and are then bound by those guidelines. That is particularly important as it relates to being a mandated reporter, as such a responsibility does carry with it legal obligations and consequences. Any individual that is not prepared to function in the role of mandated reporter according to legal guidelines should reconsider the role of volunteering.
Our admissions lottery process for the 2019-2020 school is just around the corner. If you have a sibling that needs to enroll for next year, please be aware of the following details. We will begin accepting lottery submission forms on January 8th and will be accepting them through February 8th. Submissions may be made 12 - 3pm daily and until 6pm on Tuesdays during that time. Please make sure to take the annual parent survey from the GaDOE. The results directly impact our CCRPI score and provide us with valuable information to help us improve. In two parent homes, each parent should take the survey. The survey should only take a few minutes to complete.
The survey can be found at the link below...
Under county or district please choose State Charter Schools II
Under school select Liberty Tech Charter School
There have been many questions running around this week about the lost and found process. To clarify these questions please review the following.
We changed the location of lost and found. Lost and found items are no longer being stored in the front office. Lost and found is being kept in the classroom.
Why the change in the lost and found location?
How is the change in location working?
What are some things that you can do to help with lost and found?
We hope that this clarifies any confusion around the lost and found process. If not, please feel free to contact any one of our front office staff and we will be glad to assist with further questions.

With the heavy rains that came through this week, we are reminded to make sure that everyone is aware of how inclement weather and school closing notices are posted.
In the case of school closing you will be notified in four ways. An email using this same platform will be sent out. A message will be sent out through the Infinite Campus platform. The closing will be posted to our website and social media pages. The closing will be posted on the Channel 2 Action News channel. It is important to note that the news channel will say Liberty Tech Charter School. Though often very similar, the Fayette County Schools closing posting is not the same message for us.
